For this task, I utilized computer vision techniques with the OpenCV library to ensure robust detection. I performed comprehensive optimizations to run these algorithms efficiently on edge devices like the Raspberry Pi, while also ensuring the system's compatibility with various other hardware platforms. Simultaneously, I played a key role in the end-to-end development of the 'UrineReader' device. My responsibilities included: AI Development: I developed high-performance AI models for microscopic analysis using YOLOv11, achieving an impressive 99.1% mAP@50 success rate. Edge Optimization: To ensure rapid processing speeds and real-time inference, I optimized these models specifically for the Jetson Nano computer. Application Development: I built the accompanying Desktop Application (using Python and QML) to control integrated hardware components and visualize the diagnostic results."

T3 AI Ideathon
I achieved 2nd place in this competitive AI ideathon organized by the T3 Foundation. I collaborated within a randomly formed multidisciplinary team of 5 students, comprising Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Medical students. We developed an innovative solution to accelerate the hospital triage process, addressing the critical issue of overcrowding in emergency services in Turkey. Our project proposed a voice-enabled kiosk system where patients verbalize their symptoms, allowing AI to streamline patient prioritization and significantly reduce waiting times.
Doping Technology AI in Education Hackathon
During this intensive 36-hour hackathon, I developed an innovative solution aimed at increasing the success rate of students preparing for YKS (Turkey's Higher Education Institutions Examination). Leveraging Amazon Bedrock infrastructure, I designed a system that uses Generative AI (via Claude and ChatGPT APIs) to analyze questions students answered incorrectly and generate similar, customized practice questions to reinforce learning. Additionally, I introduced a gamified competitive element where students are matched with peers of similar skill levels to foster positive motivation. I successfully built a functional prototype of this platform using C# and ASP.NET Core.
Anadolu Efes "A Day at the Office" Hackathon
I competed in this ideation challenge focused on developing innovative strategies to boost sales growth. My team proposed a digital solution to enhance customer engagement and drive revenue. I took the lead in the Mobile Application UI Design, creating user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing interfaces to visualize our concept. Additionally, I delivered a comprehensive technical presentation, outlining the software architecture and feasibility of our proposed solution, which played a crucial role in our advancement to the final stage.
Dokuz Eylül University Graduation Project Exhibition
I spearheaded the development of TAMGA, a specialized Visual Language Model (VLM) designed to bridge the gap in multimodal AI for the Turkish language, with a specific focus on the defense industry. Key Technical Contributions: Custom Dataset Curation: We constructed a specialized dataset focused on defense industry imagery to ensure high relevance and accuracy for domain-specific tasks. Advanced Object Detection: I fine-tuned the state-of-the-art YOLOv12 model using our custom dataset to achieve precise object recognition capabilities. Data Augmentation & NLP: To overcome the scarcity of Turkish vision-language data, I utilized various AI APIs to generate synthetic Turkish captions for our image dataset. VLM Fine-Tuning: Leveraging these Turkish descriptions, I fine-tuned the BLIP (Bootstrapping Language-Image Pre-training) architecture, enabling the model to understand and describe images in Turkish effectively. Community & Deployment: We also launched a dedicated website to showcase the project and lay the foundation for building an open-source community around Turkish multimodal AI.
